“In Loving Memory of my Father, my Hero”
Richard Dean Altgilbers
From the baseball field, to work, and back to the baseball field, my father was the hardest working man I knew. Even though he shouldn’t have been due to his health conditions he suffered from having Cancer at an earlier age, he would work to complete any task given to him in the most professional manner. At a very young age, I picked up on these traits from him. He instilled his work ethic, kindness, and love for what he did in me. My father was that man that would actually go the extra mile to make sure you were happy no matter what it cost him. Losing my father back in 2014 was a stinger to say the least. At such a young age (51), I felt as if I was cheated out of time with him. One day I realized through the healing process of losing him, that carrying on his legacy is what I wanted and needed to do. All those days that I thought I was “annoyed “ working side by side with him I learned so much and I will forever be grateful for that time I had with him. I vow through my journey not only in work, but in the public eye to carry on my father’s legacy to my best ability.
Dad, I love today more than I did yesterday and the day before that. This is for you.
In Loving Memory of Richard Dean Altgilbers.
